Allison Family…. all 11 of them!

This past saturday Ryan and I headed out to Paw Paw Michigan for the Allison’s Family Shoot. This is our first official family and well, we always love a good challenge.

First, shooting in the winter is always tough. Everyone is cold, faces get red, your stuck wearing coats a lot of the time, ect. So because its cold, wandering around for a couple hours in a session like we usually do when its warm just isn’t an option. We have to think fast so we don’t make everyone freeze to death since keeping everyone alive and happy is a goal of ours…

Second, this happened to be a really sunny day which is both good and bad. Good so we literally all didn’t die from the cold and it provided some cool shots but also hard because the harsh light just makes post processing more difficult.

Third, by “the Allison family” we mean ALL the allison family which was 11 people. So it was a lot of people to juggle and keep organized. I personally love the addrenaline rush of it all. I secretly enjoy working under pressure.

Fourth, the key to working with challenges is to have one piece that isn’t a challenge which, in this case, would be their family. Last summer we shot Dan and Laura Allison’s wedding and then shot Hannah’s senior pictures (his sister). Hannah was one of our best seniors ever and since we were so bad at blogging this past summer, there is no blog post for her…but she was great, just take my word for it. So, we have worked with this family quite a bit so I was confident we would all get along well for the family shoot.

So I put on my moms boots because I don’t own boots that don’t have at least a 3 inch heel, put on a sweater, coat, a couple scarves and gloves and then my pink plaid ear flapper hat and was all ready to go! Needless to say, I looked super hot.

ps. If you would like to do a family session with us just drop us an email and we will send you along more information and pricing! :) If you live in a state where our workshop tour will be taking us let us know! We would love to do some sessions along the way. Our major stops are: Austin, Dallas, Oklahoma, Phoenix, Vegas, LA, San Francisco, Utah, Denver and Iowa.

So that is that. Looking back at all this now our logo seems way big. Sorry if that is distracting, I don’t have time to go back and redo everything. I’ve been struggling a lot lately with our logo and name and what to watermark with, ect. So…I apologize for the identity crisis that I am having. :)
