I like doing these because it gets people to loosen up a bit. Some people are more crazy than others, but sometimes you can just get lost in formality and these are a great way to break into being more relaxed and fun. There’s NO chance anyone is going to look amazing in them so there isn’t anything to worry about which adds a nice “free” quality to them I think. :) It’s a staple of GAUPERphoto that will be around for as long as I’m around.

When I was looking through the images to find the best ones, I noticed how funny they all looked together so I thought it would be fun to put together a little video of them all. Please don’t judge me on the editing, I just batched these real quick just for the video since there are so many. :)

There are SO many great images from this wedding, I can’t wait to get caught up with my other weddings and get to editing. I’ll hopefully have a blog post up soon about it to hold everyone over. :)

There was $9,238 of lenses, $11,000 in Cameras, $2,000 in lighting and a whole lot more contributed by the couple and their families. It had pillars, beauty, more good light, tilt-shifting, blue skys, happy people, an amazing and kind couple, good food, and goooooood  good photos! I don’t say that lightly either! ;) It even had a point where the whole bridal party jumped in the dang ol’ pool! So we had fun until the security guy from the hotel got teste … get it?

Never thought I would say, “This is going so well” as I did for this wedding. That means a LOT. thegaupers… that’s us! We tend to have some bad luck which means as hard as we try I am nominating us for the hardest working wedding photographers! Whether it takes 1 hour or 4 hours to scout the area pre shoot, we are GOING to find some good spots in good light. Do we get paid for it? Technically no… Although it does make the clients very happy when we take them to a pallet yard and pull magic out of our… pockets.

Anyway my main point is, we needed this one man…This could fight Hope and Even. Our reigning favorite couple for this year. And dont go being so vein and thinking this song is about you. You do don’t you! Just kidding, we realllllly love this year’s clients. I don’t like to dirty my nose, but seriously, we really lucked out with the clients we got and this year has been crazy awesome – mostly in part to you.

Thank you to everyone that has worked with us this year. We are so grateful for the referrals and fans that tell everyone about us. You really don’t realize how much we appreciate that. This is our only source of income for Holly and I people spreading the word helps us to do what we do for the people who really want what we do.

Ok I kind of got on a tangent so here is a sweet sweet slow mo for your eyes to feast upon.

We were really excited to be able to see a few cool things along Route 66. I guess we were not very prepared to take advantage of it because you have to really map out what to see and how to get places since the original road is no longer on current maps and such and will always take you on highway 40. Someday, we are going to really plan it out and take it all the way across the country. We did get to see a few cool things just in this one day so I can’t even imagine how awesome the whole way would be.

After leaving Amarillo we started towards Albuquerque and just a few miles out is the cadillac ranch so we figured we would stop and take a few shots.

The mud around there was crazy! My shoes were slip on so there was nothing keeping me in them when they got stuck in the mud. After a few steps I was taking on more and more mud and could hardly walk around!

Since we were being touristy, might as well have a cheesy photo proving we were there. :) It was so windy and freezing. I shouldn’t complain since its not a miserable blizzard…but the wind was still cold. So there. :)

Next, we started heading towards Albuquerque and took as many of the “historical” exits as we could find. We stopped at this little restaurant in the small town of Adrian Texas which is actually the mid point between LA and Chicago which is pretty cool.

This truck out front was really cool and talked to some people from the town while we were there. The school in their town has a little over 100 kids in it k-12! I find that kind of stuff so awesome. It would be great to grow up in a small town like that. Life is just slower and so much more laid back. I’d love to go back there when we do this trip again and be able to learn more about each place and town. I love to do new things but there really is something so important about knowing how to slow life down sometimes.

Down the road from the restaurant was this awesome truck. I don’t know the story behind it but it looked like every inch of this thing was covered with names and stuff.

After lunch we went the “ghost town” of Glenrio for some photos. It is crazy to be in those places and to think of them when they were alive and running.

This first photo is probably our favorite. I love the lines and the edit is beautiful! Ryan actually edited this one, I am so proud! :)

Since we have very few photos of us together, I am insisting we take as many as we can together on this trip…especially since we are going to so many cool places. So hopefully this is the first of many self portraits. :) AND…who notices whats wrong with this picture? :)

When we got to Albuquerque it was sunset and my goodness, I wish this photo did it justice but the human eye is just so much better than cameras. New Mexico and Arizona has some of the coolest skies I have ever seen!

So that is that. We just arrived in Scottsdale Arizona tonight and are doing another workshop on Tuesday so hopefully we can get caught up on some things tomorrow…like  keeping this blog current!

To end things, I’d like to embaress my dear husband. :) He lost his sunglasses and I just happen to hair two pairs of my favorite sunglasses so I let him borrow mine. Yep. We are twins. hahahaha.
