Elin {newborn}

gauper photo, the gaupers, newborn photography, holly gauper

Ryan and I have done two baby sessions but thats all. We just don’t seem to know any pregnant women apparently because we just don’t get much interest in that area. So that’s just been why we focus mostly on weddings and seniors. Well, my friend Nicole is the baby whisperer so we decided to team up and start doing newborn sessions. I’m much more the artsy, nerdy type and she is much more the super mom. :) I think babies are real cute and I very much enjoyed photographing her, but I don’t think I could have handled to clean up the poopy messes that come with this or to do all the cuddling and soothing. My mom gene is not activated quite yet haha. So we seem to make a good team. Ryan is left out of this new venture haha awww…poor ryan… :)

Elin was only 4 days old for this session. It’s weird how no matter what age you are, it’s always followed by “old”…even if it’s only been 4 days since you entered the world. Being only 4 days old, she was still super sleepy and laid back. She sure didn’t seem to mind having her photo taken.

I really enjoyed shooting this type of a session. It’s so different from weddings since they are SO fast paced. Typically we never stop for 10-12 hours on a wedding day so this was just so laid back comparatively. I hope to do many more. If your interested in a newborn session, please just email me and I’d love to send you more information. Holly@GAUPERphoto.com

This first photo is my absolute favorite! It looks like her back hand is propping her head forward. I think she knew what was happening and just wanted all her best angles. I also really love all the layers of texture. That shaggy rug is wonderful!

Donna Smith - beautiful. You don’t need many props for babies, they are awesome in their birthday suits.
