new wig

Winter needs to be over now. I miss the sun. I miss being able to go out shooting whenever we want…

Since winter is not looking like it will end soon no matter how much I complain about it, we are trying to stay creatively sharp and decided to have some fun this evening!

I bought a wig on ebay for $20 a couple months ago to see if I would like having long hair since I never have had it and to see what I would look like with really dark brown hair.  I love it! I can’t grow my hair that long but I am certainly going to get it colored dark. I also now realize how completely AWESOME cheap wigs are for pictures. Gosh, different hair changes how you look so much and I find that extremely exciting. I love being able to change up my look but usually that involves a lot of money and time growing my hair out and then chopping it all off. I will be purchasing more wigs for sure. The hair does not feel all that great because its synthetic but I think it looks pretty decent in photos.

I have been wanting to experiment with makeup and art mixed with photography more so tonight was just a little test run.  Ryan looked quite nice with lady hair  if you ask me. :)

I got this giant pinwheel from Hobby Lobby a while back. I did not really know what I would use it for or why I DESPERATELY needed it but just knew that I did. I am very happy with my purchase. :) There are just some things in life you can’t walk away from. The more ridiculous and weird the better in my book.

Happy Smiley!

I hope to do more things like this. I am currently working on a look back at 2009 blog about all our work, clients, things we learned, ect. and its going to be a massive post so its taking longer than expected. However, one thing from last year that I have learned is that there will always be work and that we really have to be intentional about making time for us and time for life….and time to put life on this blog as well. Fun creative shoots that have no pressure involved are something I really want to do more of this year. I really want to start pushing to grow within our style more this year and see what comes from it.

If you know of any great makeup that is a must have for creative full coverage stuff please let me know! This was just a test so I was really just doodling on my face with my eye liner…haha but I would really love to have stuff that will cover larger areas like up my arm/neck/face. I’d also like to find something that would be great for outlining, would eyeliner be my best choice? I love really bold lines and such. If you have any insight, I’d love to chat with you about this stuff! :) Thanks so much!
